Self Care Passport

The Origin Story of the Self Care Passport:

The original thought behind the Self Care Passport was to feel better about my life, one day at a time, and move forward from there. At the time it wasn’t called the Self Care Passport it evolved to that over time. I took a piece of notebook paper from my son’s school supplies and started keeping track of how I was feeling throughout the day.

I was looking for a change from a less than stellar situation outside of myself and within myself. I looked for patterns, when I was feeling good (better) what was I up to? When I was feeling drained what was I up to? I was being truly honest with myself, making choices from the lens that ultimately brought on changes that felt good on the inside. More often than not it is hard to call ourselves out, make critical observations and be aware enough to call yourself home. Instinctively we know where our sweet spot is, you just get clouded with all the layers of experience and circumstance that come out way.

I spent time tracking how I was spending my time, energy, and money in a nutshell. At the end of the week, I would look at my observations, declare what I wanted to keep, and make changes to alleviate the more negative experiences and emotions and repeat that for the next week. It was hard in a lot of ways but also very clear and easy. I was amazed. I was able to look at my choices, actions, what I was doing and who I was hanging out with that really aligned with the feelings that were coming up in every scenario. I was feeling my way forward. It felt good for my body, mind, and soul.

I was coming out of a turbulent time in my life, scared, down throden, struggling in so many ways with three sons in tow. My curiosity, creativity, resourcefulness, and resilience kept me going. I aligned to my values, set some boundaries, and tended to my love languages and my newly created business.

Now, I have the pleasure of helping my clients create this understanding and ease for themselves. You can download the Self Care Passport template and go it alone or book a call to see if we are a good fit for your journey ahead. Let’s go on this adventure together. The time is now. ~Janae
